Carolynn + Alan = Rameslie Labradors

Both myself and Alan have always loved dogs throughout our lives together; however, we have a particularly fondness for the renowned British Labrador Retriever Gun Dog breed which are friendly, outgoing, hard working and make wonderful family pets too, who are our dedicated companions and best friends.

I have always had a calling, a passion, a lifestyle choice to become a small ethical breeder of Labrador Retrievers. However, I felt strongly that one of the reasons to decide to breed should be creating a caring and safe environment while ensuring the welfare of our girls and their pups would be at the forefront of everything we do.

My second reason to want to become a small ethical breeder was to be locally respected as a responsible breeder that uniquely matches our puppies to couples and families for them to love and enjoy, knowing that I have followed all The Kennel club guidelines regarding DNA tests, health screening schemes and avoiding that all important close inbreeding.

So in March 2024 I took the bold step and founded Rameslie Labradors to fulfil my passion. I hope you will join us on our journey to deliver happy and healthy puppies.

Our litters

At Rameslie Labradors we will only ever have a maximum of 1 or 2 litters a year and all our girls will have at least a year to 18 months between litters. You can also be rest assured that they are hereditary clear of 225 genetic conditions, and have amazing hip and elbow scores along with current clear eye tests. We also check the coefficient inbreeding results for our girls and the stud before any mating takes place to ensure they are below the breed average of 6.5%

As part of our welfare requirements we have a 3-year First Aid Certificate which was carried out with 'Dog First Aid - Sussex', we also achieved a CPD Certificate course in Canine Pregnancy & Whelping and I'm currently studying towards an iPET Level 2 in Principles of Puppy Socialisation.

Puppy stimulation
Here at Rameslie Labradors we have 2 very important early puppy stimulation exercises that we undertake, Early Scent Introduction (ESI) & Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS).

We start these exercises from 3 days old through to 16 days old, they are crucial to the puppies development and will help them grow and deal with many situations later in life.

Our puppy room

Here at Rameslie Labradors we have created the perfect environment to help us breed happy and healthy puppies, our puppies are whelped in our house to start with so are also subjected to everyday life and noises of a family home.
Our puppy room was designed to facilitate the puppies after they reach 4 weeks old in a safe, warm space that is easy to clean.
The puppies also love it as they have plenty of space inside the room, and are free to adventure outside for exercise and fun throughout the day.
